Step 12 - PvP

Alright - the story game mode is Player Vs Environment (or PvE), Player Vs Player is PVP.  And it can hurt.

A few things to know:

  1. PvP gear is not available anymore - you use your PvE gear.  New from 5.0
  2. Be smart & nice, complaining will not get you wins.  Name calling is not helpful either.  Play as a team, you'll get wins.
  3. If the opposing team is OP on gear, well, get your bonuses/dailies done quicker I guess?
  4. The fleet chat channel for PvP is "ennemies", to join type "/cjoin ennemies" in fleet chat
  5. IF you don't know who to go for, hit the player with the lowest item rating, you simply need to click on them, mouse over on their pic on your main bar and you'll see their item rating.  Here is my Commando's rating:

Don't hit a player with 248 level gear when there is another with say 230 rating and your rating is 220.  Higher rating usually means higher chance of you dying.  This is very useful in the 4Vs4 arenas.
  6. Should you wish to gank someone in a pvp location/instance, gopher it but #5 applies even more.  Odds are their comp can be on heals mode so burn it down before burning down the other player, assuming he/she/it insn't a healer of course, that would be silly,
'have fun!

  1. Learn your class.
    Play your class
    If you're new say so.
Guard duty is a useful role, but call incoming and clear when you see off an attacker.
Keybind passing the huttball. ( And power-up/pass in OPG)

  2. Agreed - the Leroy Jenkins strategy typically fails :) And for Huttball it's the place I love my sages & sorcerers for pulls of teammates
