Step 10 - Crafting

Crafting - ah the joys of.  Sometimes profitable, sometimes a bust.  Still a decent way to make some creds.  Personally I craft for alts stuff like mods, implants & earpieces, the rest I get on GTN.  Everyone has his/her take on this.  A few pearls of possible wisdom:

1. For Free to play users: Slicing.  Why?  Instant credits. 
2. For subscribers: cybertech as the mods sell well at a reasonably high price.  I also like artifice believe it or not, make really good creds with it.  Bio is always good to make your own reusable purple stuff.  I like slicing on my non-crafting toons, instant credits and Yavin 4 can give you 1 million creds per hour around the temple (west map).

FYI / As of 5.2.2 when you send your comp onto perilous missions for mats, they also gain affection.

You can also buy crew skill missions on GTN or get them via.. crew skill missions!  They're a good way to grab materials too.  For some the cost is really low (I think biochem is in this category).

If you can get affection to 50 on a comp, you get +25% chance of a crit crafting.

As of 5.2.2, Tier 4 crafting schematics are available from the crew skill trainers.  Finally.  You'll need some "Iokathian Samples" to craft though, new mat, found from Command Token Vendor.
